Welcome to our faith based ministry.
We are an auxiliary ministry of the Vancouver Bible Institute out to show the truth of the gospel and show that there is nothing we can do to earn Gods grace. We find that the two largest church organizations that do not believe this are the Mormon church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) and the Jehovah's Witnesses.
As most of you are aware of the transition out from the Influence of Mormonism and the Watchtower society can be quite difficult for some. We want someone seeking answers to know there is someone they can go to for answers, have lunch, coffee or just an ear to listen, or a shoulder to lean on. For example we want to be there for the spouse that is leaving when their husband or wife has been told to divorce them for leaving. To be there and let them know they have a friend, that they are not alone and that Jesus loves them. This can also help us point them to a local church.
If you are a Mormon or a JW and have questions we can walk you through your church history and show you how your information changed based off of false prophecy, greed, or even pressure from the US Government. This can be done in person or through email. We will call if you wish to meet in person for it can be way to much information to go over on the phone. Our ministry started in the Portland, Vancouver area and have branched out into several areas. We are still glad to help and will do everything we can to get you the answers you need.
Should we dialog with those we disagree with?
I was born in Salt Lake City Utah into a 5th generation LDS family (Father's side). My Mother was a convert to the Church as a teen. In the 40's My Grandparents moved to the LDS Church owned Cumorah Farm, near the Hill Cumorah in Palmyra New York, my Father in his teens along with his parents and siblings, lived on and helped work that farm for 5 yrs. Later in the 50's my Grandparents who were LDS missionaries, moved to and ran the Joseph Smith Farm, which is also located in Palymyra New York, my Father's two younger brothers help work that Farm. My Mother and Father moved us away from Utah when I was around 3 yrs old and they separated themselves completely from the LDS Church, they were what is known as "Jack Mormons" My siblings were somewhat active in the LDS church when we lived in Utah and continued to be active on and off after we moved. My brother was sealed in the SLC Temple to his 1st wife and their son and my sister taught Sunday school and had her children baptized in the church. I had been blessed in the church as a baby when we lived in Utah, but was actually raised mainly outside of the church. Yet my entire life, when it came to religion... I considered myself and referred to myself as a Mormon. Even being raised outside of the church, away from Utah, by Jack Mormon parents, I was still influenced somewhat by Mormon culture, doctrine and theology, because my entire life... that's mainly what everyone I lived with knew. When I was 38 yrs old I gave my life to Jesus Christ and He started to show me that the Mormon religion was not all that it claimed to be. It took me years to renew my thinking by the washing of God's Word (The Bible) I had been deceived by so many things and ignorant to even more. Thru deep study of the LDS religion, I've learned where much of my thinking was off, while also learning the truth about the religion it's self. As of 1993 I had stopped calling myself a Mormon, instead I began to refer to myself as a born again, bible believing Christian, a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ. Most of my immediate family have since given their lives to the Lord, and like myself, no longer refer to themselves as Mormons, yet, I still have many relatives and friends who remain in the LDS religion.... I love them all so much! I just want them and everyone else to know the Joy, freedom and Truth found only through a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ! I pray that everyone would receive God's Free gift of Salvation (Eternal Life with God) that is offered to all by Grace through Faith on His Son!
